Dentium announced the successful conclusion of the “2024 Dentium World Symposium in Barcelona,” held on October 19 at the CCIB Auditorium in Barcelona, Spain. Returning after seven years since the 2017 symposium in Barcelona, the event attracted significant attention as a platform to showcase advanced dental technologies and digital solutions.
Scholars and Dentists from around the world gathered to explore the latest trends, share innovations, and shape the future of digital dentistry. Over 1,000 participants from 28 countries attended, experiencing cutting-edge solutions such as bright implants and DASK Simple, and participating in hands-on sinus procedure workshops featuring these products.
A Dentium spokesperson noted, “In the face of global challenges, including visa delays caused by conflicts, it was a great achievement to welcome over 1,000 attendees. The participation of nearly 200 UIC students, alongside visitors eager to join hands-on sessions, created a vibrant and engaging atmosphere.”
Through this symposium, Dentium further solidified its partnership with UIC (Universidad Internacional de Catalunya), a prestigious Spanish dental school accredited by the American Dental Association. This collaboration lays a strong foundation for expanding Dentium’s influence across Europe.
The symposium featured three main lecture sessions. The Surgery session included presentations from Dr. Quevedo (UIC) on the concept of short implants and Professor Byun Soo-hwan (Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital) on sinus procedures using DASK Simple. Esteemed speakers from the Americas, including Dr. Ortiz (UIC), Dr. Philip Kang (Columbia University), and Dr. Alan Meltzer (University of Pennsylvania), also delivered in-depth lectures.
In the Prosthetic session, Dr. Pokpong (Mahidol University) and Professor Baek Jang-hyun (Kyung Hee University Dental Hospital) explored digital concepts using bright CT. Professor Thoma (University of Zurich) discussed the latest implant trends and clinical applications, while Dr. Jung Sung-min (Dentium Dental Clinic) showcased the Short & Narrow features of bright implants and their integration with Dentium’s digital solutions. Additional insights were provided by UIC professors Dr. Jordi Caballé, Dr. Albert Barroso, Dr. Pablo Altuna, and Dr. Jorge Bertos, further enriching the event.
“Rather than merely showcasing products, the symposium served as a meaningful opportunity to build trust and engage with participants,” the Dentium spokesperson added. “We are committed to hosting future symposiums that embrace diverse cultures, strengthen global communication, and continuously introduce innovative products and concepts.”
